Oswaldo Lenine Macedo Pimentel, also known as Lenine is one of the greatest singers and authors of Popular Brazilian Music (MPB).
The name Lenine, is not something common in Brazil and came from the desire of his father (José Geraldo) who, inspired by communist ideas and the Soviet leader Lenin, wanted to honour his son with that name.
Lenine not only had his life on the music track but also as a chemical engineer and ecologist. He said that his father still influences him and that he lives by answering the questions he taught to do: What do you do?; Why do you do it?; And for whom do you do it?.
